The Clubhouse is the latest venture from The New World Trading Company, who already own popular venues across the city including Red Door, The Alchemist and The Smuggler’s Cove. You’ll find it in Chavasse Park (upstairs on the roof of Liverpool One), standing proud in the centre of the park, close by to Chaophraya and the Tavern on the Green.
The quirky interior is modelled on the likes you’d find in a luxury beach house in the Hamptons, USA – giant chandeliers made from wine glasses, grand staircases, plus stuffed crocodiles and other affluent beach house-type paraphernalia adorning the walls.
Perhaps the best bit about the place is the outdoor beer garden, which makes this place the perfect summer spot to while away the hours with friends after a busy day of shopping – if you’re lucky enough to bag yourself a seat, that is! There are deck chairs, benches and an upstairs shaded area to choose from.
Outside is also where all the cooking happens. Chefs prepare and sizzle your order from the extensive menu, which includes a varied selection of sandwiches, salads and gorgeous deli boards, as well as rotisserie chicken, barbequed meat and a nice selection of house favourites such as scampi and chips with tartare sauce. If you come here, chances are you’ll try one of the famous hanging kebabs. Popular with so many, prices start from £11.50 for chicken, £12.50 for lamb and £13.95 for beef – each kebab comes with a sweet chilli, ginger and garlic butter and is served with fluffy seasoned chips.
For an added touch, dishes come served in novelty tableware, such as fried chicken in treasure chests and burgers in boxes. What’s not to love?
