The O2 Academy is one of the major venues for gigs in Liverpool and consists of the O2 Academy and the O2 Academy 2. Big and mid-sized touring names take the stage here alongside unsigned talent; allowing gig-goers to get up close and personal with unsigned acts on their way to the top.
Gig tickets can be bought online, over the phone or in person; just remember that ticket sales on the night are cash only. The Liverpool O2 Academy box office is open between 11.30am and 5.30am Monday to Saturday and if you pay by cash, you won't be charged a booking fee.
Parking at the O2 Academy is relatively easy. The Odeon Car Park on Hotham Street is open until midnight and there's also free on-street parking available on Hotham Street itself after 6pm. Failing that there's the Apcoa Car Park at Lime Street Station, which can be accessed via Lord Nelson Street. Coming to Liverpool by train? Lime Street is the nearest train station to the O2 Academy and local bus routes can be found on Mersey Travel.
While under 18s are welcome at the academy, access is restricted to those over the age of 8 and under 14s must be accompanied by an adult, with no more than two under 14s per adult. However, do check this as some events specify over 18s or over 21s only (with no exeptions). No food or drink can be taken into the venue and will be confiscated if it's found. Opening times vary depending on what's on so remember to check this on your ticket.
