Just around the corner from Roundhay Park is the recently opened Stories. This cosy, friendly staffed little independent cafe is situated in the Oakwood area of North Leeds. Its interior design has a light, woody Scandinavian feel that matches its Nordic-inspired cuisine.

The perfect place for a morning coffee or post-walk-in-the-park lunch, there’s a great focus on sourcing organic, local, sustainable and fairly traded ingredients here – with everthing from their South American coffee, which is imported and traded directly with it's makers, to their fruit and veg bought from the near by Kirkgate market in the city centre -  all contributing to a ethically minded menu.

The food is cooked by a brilliant team of chefs - with contintal style toasties, sandwiches and salads available as well as delicioushly fresh  smoothies, juices and teas and coffees.

They’re also child friendly, dog friendly, vegan friendly and gluten and dairy intolerance… tolerant.

Stories was a winner in the Best Newcomer category in the The Skinny Food and Drink Survey 2017. Check out the other winners as voted for by The Skinny readers here.
