177-179 Woodhouse Ln | Leeds LS2 3AR
Tokyo Industries’ latest venue Church – a new arts and events space in Leeds – takes residence next to the university campus in the space on Woodhouse Lane formerly known as Halo. Aaron Mellor, the man behind Tokyo Industries (currently the UK’s second largest club operator, with 32 venues across England, Scotland and Wales and Northern Ireland) says the former 18th-century venue focuses on hosting live music, art installations, street food DJs and parties, all of which can be found here throughout the week.
Europe's longest running weekly club night promoters Back to Basics are also part of the team behind Church, holding a permanent residence at the venue, where they host some of the biggest house nights Leeds has to offer. Furthermore, their passion sees them passing on the baton, as they educate the world in their art with the Back To Basics Music Academy, teaching young people the tricks of the DJ trade.
