The Kings Theatre has resided in a grand, purpose built venue on Glasgow's Bath Street for over a century. The ornate facade, a mix of Baroque and Art Noveau styles in red Dumfriesshire sandstone has earned the building an A-listed status.

Inside, the theatre has been extensively refurbished in an effort to return the furnishings to their former glory in time for the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Show-wise, The King's is primarily a receiving house for touring musicals and pantomimes, as well as dance, drama and comedy performances. In addition to professional theatre it is proud to offer Glasgow's budding amateur groups a high profile venue in which to stage their performances.

What's more, every year The King's stages a truly lavish pantomime. In a climate where the rivalry to stage Glasgow's biggest and best Christmas panto is really rather fierce, the claim to victory is a challenge that this theatre doesn't take lightly. Instead, every Christmas, King's Theatre bares its festive fisticuffs and puts up quite the fight.

Well worth a look, if you ask us.
