Located in the Sikorski Polish Club, a cultural centre for all things Polski, U Jarka specializes in traditional Polish and European cuisine. In case you’re not sure what to expect, this means borsch, dumplings, breaded pork chops, kebab dishes, potato pancakes, and more. The dishes are fresh, simple and satisfying – as the website explains, ‘Cooking is our passion is the art of love and only love spice cuisine is really good’. It would appear Love-Spiced cuisine is also fantastically good value for money – a three course meal including drinks can easily come in under 16 quid, and if it’s just some beers and bar food you’re after, don’t expect to spend more then a tenner.

Also of interest is the bar, a comfy affair with an aesthetic more comparable to the bar your mate’s weird dad built in his basement, rather than a licensed premises. There’s a pool table, plenty of space, a lot of very cheap (and tasty) Polish beer, and some suspiciously medicinal vodka (again, very nice). There's also some big screens for sports, although if you are coming along for the game, your Polish better be up to scratch as you’ll be watching it on a Polish network (whose pundits, it’s safe to say, are far more enthusiastic then our own).
