It’s official: Glasgow loves street food. Weegies just can’t get enough – and there’s nothing this city loves more than good Indian food.
Located in a basement on West Regent Street, you’ll smell Babu Bombay Street Kitchen before you see it. Bright, kitsch and fun, this small slice of India fulfils its promise to be 'authentic, but never traditional'. Plastic tables fold down from walls which are adorned with Indian movie posters, and food boards.
Like the premises, the menu is small but perfectly formed, serving up Indian breakfasts with a twist (in the form of a soft, buttered Morton’s roll), curries and cold street food, the majority of which is vegan friendly, and if you ditch the Morton’s, gluten free too. Hurrah!
Babu Bombay is also a hit with you, the great Skinny readership, too. Once a year The Skinny holds a Food & Drink Survey where we pick our readers' brains for the best food and drink spots in town. You gave Babu Bombay Street Kitchen the nod when you named it one of the nation's Best Street Food and Takeaways in our 2019 survey.
