Inner city bars are always a bit hit-and-miss, often becoming stuck in an unpleasant limbo attempting to cater for worn-out shoppers, sports fans and pre-clubbers all at the same time. Rather than specialise, Bar Ten has built an identity out of its diversity, with a menu to satisfy ravenous day trippers, and drinks specials and DJs to warm revelers up on a Saturday night.
The bar prides itself on its ‘cool’ vibes, which, although self-styled, are definitely present – maybe it’s the high ceilings, or the effect of sipping a pint just off Glasgow’s busiest street, but there’s a definite air of the trans-European at work here. For a decently-priced warming plate of scran, you can't go wrong with their homemade macaroni cheese, served with garlic bread and bacon.
