Galgael

Galgael is a boat building workshop in Govan with a strong philosophy behind it. It was created as a cultural anchor point around which local people can rekindle skills, community and a sense of purpose – the things Galgael felt had been lost from Govan after the demise of the ship building industry. At the workshop they build and sail traditional boats modelled on a one thousand year old prototype in celebration of Scotland's heritage. The space and tools are also used for smaller projects including furniture building and community projects, so keep your ear to the ground for details of upcoming events.
