The Glee Club

Opening in early 2019, Glasgow will be the first Scottish city to host a branch of The Glee Club, one of the UK’s most successful string of comedy clubs. Taking up residence on Renfrew Street beside the cinema, the club promises weekly comedy bills with a mix of newcomers and familiar faces.

The Glee Club have an illustrious history that’s hard to argue with, giving early spots to some big hitters including Kevin Bridges, John Bishop and Michael McIntyre. Launching on the first weekend in February over two days, with unnamed special guests lined up for the occasion, this will likely be a good opportunity to catch a big name in a small space.

Live music is also on the cards for the Glee stage, although music listings for the coming year have yet to be released. Their fully stocked bar sells a variety of drinks, from cocktail pitchers to a good list of Scottish craft beers. Food and drinks can also be pre-ordered, meaning that if you’re running late for the show you can run in, pick up your beer and sit down before the comedians can give you a hard time.
