Originally set up in 1983 by graduates of Glasgow School of Art, Transmission Gallery continues to fulfil its original mandate to offer exhibition space and opportunities for young artists. The gallery is run by a volunteer committee of six people, with each committee serving two years before moving on - so as the name suggests, the gallery is constantly in a state of transformation and fluidity, with each new committee bringing artistic practices, tastes and audiences the to venue.

Situated on a corner on King Street in the city centre, at street level with huge windows, it always catches a glance from walker-byers and makes an easy invitation to go check out what's inside. It's always a busy schedule they have going on and they do their utmost to keep a creative community socialising and engaging in what they have to offer by way of film screenings and performances and an annual exhibition of members' work. Best till last, the gallery is also a key host venue for the annual Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art.

We do love it - take a peek.
