Lifetime knitter Catherine Robb owns the lovely Kathy’s Knits down on Broughton Street. It’s a dream place to be for any knitter, no matter whether you’re working on a long-term project or have no idea what ‘purl’ even means. It’s a great place to stock up on some really nice stuff for your latest knitting project; the shop sources its specialist yarn from independent farms and producers all over the UK. There’s all the other stuff you need for your knitting too, and even some pre-knitted stuff if you’re looking for a fake homemade Christmas present. In addition, there’s classes held in-store which include instruction from Kathy herself and plentiful supplies of tea and coffee.
