Copper Bird Cafe is now closed.

Don't be disappointed! Were you looking for cafes in the West end of Edinburgh? Why not check out Jasper's Coffee and Juice bar? Otherwise, you might like Lovecrumbs and Artisan Roast.

Copper Bird Cafe was the result of the hard work and determination of Edel Porter, who left her job in finance to pursue her dream of one day owning her own cafe. It would open bright and early at 7.30am and begin the day with a simple breakfast menu of hot rolls, porridge and pastries. For lunch, Copper Bird’s main attraction was its selection of hot wraps, filled with slow-cooked pulled pork, beef, chicken, or falafel for the veggies.

Then there’s the cupcakes. Oh, the cupcakes! Off the back of Edel’s very successful cupcake business, it was almost a shame to eat them – things of beauty that they were. A well-priced menu with charming furniture made up of antiques, copper topped tables and mismatched pictures hanging daintily from the walls, Copper Bird Cafe was a stylish and imaginative addition to the West End.

In its place, we have L'Echoppe - a family run, earthy wee spot which sells wholesome and colourful cakes and lunches.
