It may be the new kid on the eclectic block at Edinburgh's Tollcross, but Clark and Lake look set to mark their territory with their indepenent charcuterie restaurant and bar. Specialising in fine cuts of Spanish, Italian and British cured meat, tasty vino and enormous molten wheels of Raclette, these guys know the way to our hearts. A big pile of cheese and meat in one hand and a delicious glass of red in the other – what's not to like?

In addition to its meaty and cheesy main players, Clark and Lake also serve up an ever-changing menu of small plates. You can either create your own sharing board, choosing from up to 20 of their tempting wee bites, or you can opt for one of their pre-selected boards put together by the chefs. Pair these with a drink from the carefully crafted wine list – or opt for a craft beer, if that's your tipple of choice – and you've got yourself a recipe for a seriously happy belly. Don't feel like sharing? Panic not; it's perfectly acceptable to order your own small plates. We're not sure we'd want to give up our boquerones either.

With its reassuringly casual setting, proximity to the much-loved King's Theatre and upcoming plans for lunch service on the cards, we're excited to see what the future holds for Clark and Lake.
