Based beneath the volunteer-led Forest Cafe in Edinburgh, Fine Roots Gallery is a wee gallery with a whole lot of heart.
The unique non-profit gallery and exhibition space has an open submission policy, which means they're happy to consider work from artists of all walks of life and disciplines. Better still, they don't charge, which means that emerging artists needn't fear the impending fees so often enountered when trying to get your work out there.
With delicious vegan food on offer from the upstairs cafe and regular events which spill into the evenings, Forest Cafe attracts a free-thinking, bohemian crowd, and the inclusive vibes are sure to draw in genuinely interested audiences. The space may be dinky but it's inviting and that's what gives it some clout.
Fancy meeting like-minded creatives? Why not head along to one of their monthly discussion groups, where you can share your work and take influence from others if you find yourself in the midst of an all-too-common artists' slump.
