Bureau

This contemporary art space, housed in the Spinningfields area, offers a platform for emerging and established artists working with a diverse range of media to showcase their art. Founded in 2006, Bureau supports artists in all career stages from around the country, and occasionally features more internationally renowned artists. This spacious gallery is located in the lobby of an office block and features a few main rotating exhibitions at a time, but also hosts a number of permanent works by resident artists. It's not just exhibitions that Bureau hosts though, with film screenings, talks with artists, as well as performances taking place there. The gallery also offers a consultancy service, through event programming, fundraising and sponsoring newer artists, while they also commission new work especially for the space. They will sometimes host longer residencies for more well known artists and collaborate internationally to bring more artistic talent to Manchester. [Charlotte Davies]
