The team behind Salt Dog Slim’s, Santa Chupitos, El Bandito and more are back with their brand new venture, Santa Maluco – think pizza and cocktails with a Brazilian spin.
Santa Maluco is Liverpool’s first ‘rodizio pizzeria’ – which translates to ‘all you can eat pizza’ to you and me. The concept derives from Brazil; guests pay a fixed price (£10 before 4pm and £15 thereafter) and are presented with slices of all flavours until they can eat no more. But don’t worry if you can’t be trusted with a free pizza rein, there are more traditional options of 18” full pizzas or individual slices for £3 each.
And don’t forget the cocktails; anybody who’s ever tried one of Santa Chupito’s famous five-dollar shakes will be pleased to know you can get your hands one of those, along with other Santa’s favourites, at the new sister site. There’s also the ‘project blender’; three staple Latin American cocktails – the Pina Colada, Daiquiri and Margarita – offered in several different flavours, blended or on the rocks. If cocktails aren’t your thing then you can go for beers, wines and other poisons.
Inside it’s relaxed, buzzy and, above all, social – the Brazilian-themed graffitied walls are something to be marvelled at, as is the wood-fire pizza oven and impressive Christ the Redeemer mural – making it the perfect spot for groups in search of decent pizza in a different part of town they might be used to.
