A bit of a legendary venue in Scotland, known for showcasing up-and-coming talent, as well as playing host to the likes of Radiohead and The Verve long before superstar status was achieved. It's also widely known for being the place where some chancers called Oasis were first spotted and signed up in 1993 - whatever happened to them, eh? Accolades aside, it's a brightly-coloured gem of a place, with a vibrant and lively atmosphere, whose schedule continues to host live music every night from large acts to the newest and coolest kids on the block.

There's not a huge amount in the way of routine – less a negative and more a symptom of King Tut's' jam-packed calendar – but they do squeeze in weekly Saturday afternoon jazz matinees, preserving the New Orleans/Dixie styles with some fabulous local bands: lovely. General pub food is served throughout the day and pool tables can keep you occupied between drinks and dances. Jolly good, we say.
