Santosa is fast becoming one of Edinburgh's best-loved yoga venues. Their shopfront on Albert Street (just a convenient few minutes away from Leith Walk) may appear unassuming from the outside, but don't let that beguile you; inside, it gives way to an oasis of calm.
For many, this is a place to gather for yoga lessons and meditation sessions, run by the experienced and friendly professionals. For others, it's simply a place to escape the rush of inner-city life, to catch up with friends, and to soak up the ambience in the small but perfectly formed cafe.
Everything you see and touch in Santosa is ethically sound; from the pre-loved furniture to the vegan-friendly cafe menu, which provides all manner of belly and soul pleasing treats, from freshly pressed juices to lovingly made soups by Breadshare, salads and wraps. Santosa do their bit to source their ingredients locally and make sure that all takeaway packaging is made from recyclable materials, which gets top marks from us over here at The Skinny camp. That, and the fact they welcome dogs, of course.
As if that wasn't enough, there's even an artisan shop selling a range of fair-trade products, including Made in Nepal products, locally made candles and Fairyland Aromatic essential oils; basically everything you could ever need to find that inner zen.
