Madeleine's Patisserie

In the heart of Edinburgh's city-within-a-city - Stockbridge - Madeleine's is a diminuitive triumph of French patisserie-baking. With creations so utterly beautiful that it's almost painful to sink your teeth into them, this independently-run café and take-out service hasn't occasioned nearly as much hype since its 2010 opening as it undeniably deserves. With its luxurious products prepared daily with the richest and most select ingredients, you can expect to pay more in Madeleine's than you might fork out for a supermarket sugar-dusted donut; but by gum, is it worth it.
