Lady Libertine

New from the team behind El Cartel and Bon Vivant, Lady Libertine is a two floor den of swanky lighting and tasty booze perched just off Edinburgh's St Andrew Square, an area awash with trendy new eateries and just a hop, skip and jump to the capital's main bus and train stations.

The food is an intriguing array of mezze dishes and flatbreads (so wear a patterned top to help you cover up any houmous stains), served from dawn 'til dusk. A breakfast flatbread, you say? You'd better believe it! With toppings ranging from Scottish smoked salmon to aubergine and pickled mango, this is a start to the day we at The Skinny are happy to get on board with. If you're in need of something a little more substantial, you might want to grab yourself a selection of sharing platters, served from lunch 'til the wee hours. With baba ganoush, olive tapanade, assorted cheeses and charcuterie to tuck into, you won't exactly be short on choice.

Lady Libertine's drink list may not be long, but it won't fail to impress with its carefully selected wines, beers, spirits and cocktails. A glass of peach Pastiche on a Sunday afternoon? Don't mind if we do. As if that wasn't enough reason to love Lady Libertine, her opening hours are spot-on too, with the ground floor cafe and wine bar staying open until midnight for those Cinderella types not looking to turn into pumpkins any time soon, and the basement bar and restaurant staying open 'til 3am at the weekends for the hedonistic sorts not quite looking to call it a night.
