Oak-beamed with roaring fireplaces, the warren-like interior is well-suited to an afternoon gnawing your way through a platter of Inn classics (the luxury fish pie never disappoints), or indeed scribbling your first novel, before staggering up to sleep off your indulgence in Stevenson's old lodgings - Room 13, if you're interested.
