Edinburgh cocktail lovers abide; there's a new bar in town and it's causing quite the stir, if you'll pardon the pun.

Landing itself a premier position on the corners of Broughton and Barony Street, Kin is the brainchild of seasoned bartenders Jody Buchan and Sam Baxendale. When it comes to mixing drinks, these guys know their stuff and with a combined CV peppered with favourited local haunts like Bramble and The Voyage of Buck, as well as bars as far afield as London and Cologne, they've got some serious liquour-based accolades under their belt.

Kin may be compact, but the candlelit tables and welcoming service make it a lovely wee nook to snuggle into of an evening. Standing out amongst the city central bar scene is no easy challenge these days, but with a sharply tuned menu and lashings of creativity, this pair seem determined to make their mark.

Sure, you'll find the classics up there – your Mojitos and Old Fashioneds – but you can also expect some little firecrackers to keep you guessing. The Perpetual Punch for example, which changes every day, or The Baroness, a neat spin on the Kir Royale. Intertwine these with some decent craft beers and carefully chosen wines or a light bite to eat – food provided by the glorious Seasons located above – and you've got all the ingredients for a people-pleasin' local, shaken or stirred.
