Educated Flea

It's been a successful old time from the bistro-boasting team who brought Three Birds and Apiary to Edinburgh's culinary scene. It looks like they're set to score a hat-trick too, with the opening of their third joint, Educated Flea. Don't let the name put you off, there'll be nae critters hopping about this place if the reviews so far are anything to go by.

An easy hopping distance from the city centre, and close to the bustling Playhouse Theatre, Educated Flea sits perfectly in the thoroughfare for hungry shoppers and show go-ers alike, offering neat early bird and pre-theatre menus if you fancy some excellent quality nosh at a purse-pleasing price.

The menu is seriously tempting too, with an interesting blend of Scottish ingredients intertwined with pan-global dishes. Who says European can't meet African, or Asian for that matter? Who says that tandoori roast chicken, korean beef ribs and tamarind and chilli pork can't co-exist on the same plate? This is the modern world after all, and we will mix our cuisines as we see fit.

Seriously though, with flavours like this and the strong chance of change from a £20 note, there's a lot to love about Educated Flea. It'll be giving its elder siblings a run for their money in no time.
