Formerly known as Home Bistro, Field is the food child of Richard Conway and Gordon Craig, who met whilst working at the Michelin-starred Plumed Horse. Their concept is to simplify the Michelin food for a bistro, with prices to match. Boasting dishes such as slow cooked pork belly with chorizo, cabbage and potato balls with grilled pak choi with ponzu sauce, it ain't exactly as simplified as fancy bangers and mash, but it is rather wonderful. With the addition of world class wines that they promise will 'shame Edinburgh's top-end establishments' we suspect they're onto a winner.
