Doctors'

So called because it faces the historical surgical college of the University of Edinburgh, Doctors' sits at a crossroads of myth-steeped Old Town, the yuppie haven of the Quartermile, and the modern-day main campus, and is consequently regarded with great affection by tourists, professionals and students alike. While it has a wonderfully "old-pub" feeling, these days Doctors' is as renowned for its quiz nights and half-price steak baguettes as for its seven cask ales and generous spirit measures.
The pub is spacious with ample seating and lots of nicely secluded little booths, display cases holding flaking tomes of medical know-how, while the staff are unfailingly friendly. Eat, drink and be merry.
