In short, Dancebase are out to get us toe-tapping and pirouetting our way to happiness and good health.

They've a three-pronged approach to supporting Scottish dance. The first is a programme of over 100 classes, allowing the public to throw shapes of all varieties, participating in classes everything from ballroom to Egyptian bellydance. The second, a professional support system which provides everything a dancer might need to achieve their wildest dancing dreams; workshops, performance opportunities, management resources and access to the Fringe Festival.

Finally, they put on quite the spread of inclusive and accessible events within a tailored participation programme. With visits to adult day centres and outreach to youth clubs and nurseries, along with opportunities to watch professional company rehearsals, one of Dancebase's true merits is its mission to bring dance to everyone who's keen to get moving.

Their gorgeous dance rooms are also up for grabs for all those looking to hire a studio, and the base also boasts the Green Room, a chilled area with access to national and international dance publications, visual media which may be borrowed and an extensive dance archive. Oh - and there's free WiFi, meaning you're free to tweet about dancing 'till the cows come home. [Kate Pasola]
