Although it’s cockney-rhyming inspired name may call to mind a traditional British affair, this restaurant and bar feels reminiscent of a polished French bistro. We’re not quite sure why there’s foliage hanging from the ceilings, but the porcelain tiled walls and granite table tops ensure this venue is one of its kind in this neck of the Northern Quarter woods. Rosylee Tearooms, perhaps unsurprisingly, offers a range of afternoon teas - though there’s several menus on offer here, with meals for all times of the day. It's fairly affordable - though prices start to rise when you order from the a la carte menu. Still, if you’re a hip twenty-something who can’t bear to mingle with the mainstream, it’s a safe bet when parents are visiting. Wander upstairs to find their 1920s themed speakeasy, the Fitzgerald: think large Chesterfield armchairs, wooden floors and fitted lighting features. Order a Martini and recline at your leisure.
