XOLO

Located within the basement of New Wakefield Street's Black Dog Ballroom, XOLO is a Mexican inspired drinking den that replaced basement venue Underdog in 2014, and it stays open til the early hours. The Day Of The Dead themed bar is surprisingly spacious for an underground venue, with a 400 person capacity. The drinks menu boasts a list of incredible cocktails such as frozen margaritas, tropical flavours and other tequila infused delights, and at such cheap prices you'll want to come back for more. There are also plenty of sharing cocktails as well as shot paddles for big groups on a night out. XOLO has been home to a few post-gig afterparties and lots of visiting DJs since it opened. The bar has a totally different atmosphere to other places in town due to its Mexican themed decor, and is entirely different to its sister venues in the Black Dog family. [Charlotte Davies]
