Attention, book connoisseurs! And especially those with a predilection towards the great Scots: if you've suddenly found yourself with a yearning to see some of the personal belongings of famous Scottish authors, then look no further than this little gem. Make your literary pilgrimage to Lady Stair's Close, and you'll get a glimpse of Robert Burn's writing desk, Sir Walter Scott's very own rocking horse and Robert Louis Stevenson's riding boots. You might even be lucky enough to get a deeks at one of the only three casts ever made of Burns' skull. You're also given the chance to memorialise your day at the museum with a trinket from the gift shop - let's just say that if Shakespeare coasters and Jane Austen notebooks are your thing, you're in luck, fair literary friend.

With free admission and tours on Thursdays and Saturdays, don't go saving this one for a rainy day. Rabbie's skull waits for no one.
