Manchester Club Academy

Manchester Club Academy is located in the basement of the University of Manchester Students Union building on Oxford Road, and is one of the smaller of the four Academy venues. Previously known as Cellar Disco, hosting student events, it has since become a reputable gig venue, hosting plenty of upcoming and emerging bands, as well as more well known acts out on smaller tours. This venue has seen the likes of Best Coast, Deap Vally and Blossoms play to packed out crowds before they got their big breaks. The venue's 620 capacity and low, barrierless stage means that fans can really get up close and personal with bands at this venue as they play within touching distance of the crowd. There's also a lounge-style seating area at the back of the room, with a number of bar stools and sofas.
