For the last couple of years, Ting Thai Caravan on Edinburgh's Teviot Place has been earning itself some serious street cred as one of the capital's most beloved street food joints.  It also smashed here at The Skinny's Food & Drink Survey 2017, earning gold in the on-the-go category with punters clearly drawn towards its nae-fuss interior and emphasis on dishing up quick, tasty Thai food.  Such was their popularity that the biggest problem faced by the team at Ting Thai was where the heck to seat everybody, and so they've gone and done the logical thing; they've opened up a new restaurant, just a couple of doors down.

Saboteur might share the same minamilst decor, with its dark walls, communal seating arrangements and exposed beams giving it the semblence of a lovechild between trendy London warehouse and backstreet Hanoi diner, but the flavours are a different ball game altogether.  While Ting Thai favoured Thai cuisine, Saboteur focuses on Vietnamese.  Expect to find rice noodle soups, wok-fried curries and bao buns.  Expect to find tasty pork jerky and lotus salads.  Expect to wash it all down with a bottle of imported Singha.  Don't expect to break the bank; most dishes on the sun-up menu come in at under £7, while even the later fare will give you change from a tenner.

Smack-bang in the heart of Students-ville, and just minutes from the city's historical centre, we can't imagine it'll be long before Saboteur starts seeing queues like its elder sibling.  Our advice?  Get in there early.
