11-13 Tarvit Street | Edinburgh EH3 9LB
Stalwart of Edinburgh's Tollcross, The Burlington Bertie is no more; time's endless march swallowed up the pub last year (sniff!), but at least what's taking its spot offers an interesting change of pace.
A sister venue to the excellent Bullard and Worth – formerly Bryant and Mack – off Rose Street, Burlington Bros seems to present a similar offering – lovely lighting, nice chairs, excellent drinks, and a spot that’s easy to find if you know where it is but also handy if you need to lay low for an hour or two. Come for the delicious drinks, stay for a quick game of ‘Who’s here on a Tinder date?’
Need a new past time? Why not make it your mission to work your way through every cocktail on the menu? *Disclaimer: same trip not advised. It's early days for the Bros crew, but with great accreditation behind them, regular gig nights in the pipeline and a thespian-infused clientele primed and ready from the nearby King's and Lyceum theatres, there are already plenty of happy rumblings about Burlington Bros.
