The Great Johnstown Flood of 1889

Past event at Greenside @ Nicolson Square

Fri 12 Aug

Entry from £8

This one-act play is a historical drama that tells the true story of a catastrophic, man-made disaster that killed 2,200 people in 1889 when a dam containing 20 million tons of water collapsed. No one was safe from the merciless tempest as it tore through five towns, destroying everything in its path. In a dramatized retelling of events, hear from the people impacted by this tragedy from the wealthiest iron and steel tycoons, to the poorest factory worker, and even a five-year-old little girl. Who will survive?
