After last month's SAY Award ceremony, the Scottish music scene held another virtual, socially-distanced bash last night in the form of the Scottish Alternative Music Awards. The SAMAs are an annual celebration of some of the best music from Scotland's underground and grassroots artists, with this year's ceremony streaming live on Twitch with performances from Walt Disco and NOVA.

Leading the night's winners was TAAHLIAH. She became the first artist to win two SAMAs in the same year, picking up the best electronic and best newcomer awards. Glasgow 'art-funk' six-piece Fauves won best rock group, and accordion-wielding troubadour Callum Easter picked up the best live act prize, which seems fitting to us as he's one of the very few live acts we've seen since all this COVID business kicked off.

Read the full list of this year's SAMA winners below, and congratulations from The Skinny to all this year's winners and nominees.
