Back in the heady days of February 2020, we told you all about an exciting new music festival arriving in Edinburgh in the spring. Readers, that festival did not arrive. The good news is that, today, The Great Eastern has a new date for your diary.

The all-dayer is now scheduled for Saturday 27 November, with plans for over 40 acts playing across Summerhall, King's Hall and The Queen's Hall. Naturally this is all subject to the COVID situation being under control at that point, and any tickets purchased for the original date of May 2020 are valid for this new date.

Among the bands on the bill are Bristol trio BEAK>, set to bring their psychedelic soundscapes and textured beats to Edinburgh. Techno utopians Free Love are also lined up, along with American songwriter and multi-instrumentalist BC Camplight and gothic indie outfit The Ninth Wave.

Also on the line-up are One True Pairing, the new project from former-Wild Beasts bassist Tom Fleming; Tracyanne and Danny, featuring Camera Obscura's Tracyanne Campbell and Crybaby's Danny Coughlan; and ambient soul artist Kubitaru. There's also a slew of Edinburgh artists on the bill including indie-folk troupe Broken Records, electro-pop duo Super Inuit, post-punks Bikini Body, and singer-songwriter Hamish Hawk. Read the full list of confirmed bands below.

There's a whole lot more to be announced – including details of who'll be playing on The Skinny stage at The Great Eastern (!) – but for now, consider this something to look forward to as spring rolls on.
