The Royal Dick

The Royal Dick is the bar located in the grounds of Summerhall. Paying homage in its name to the old Dick Vet School, The Royal Dick is a wonderful addition to the arts hub of Summerhall. It’s a quirky bar, with a contemporary design, decorated with interesting and peculiar objects from all over the world. The bar stocks a good selection of beverages, including beer from its own resident craft brewery, Barney’s Beer, which occupies part of Summerhall where the original eighteenth century Summerhall Brewery stood. Summerhall is also home to Pickerings Gin, which is also distilled on site, and is served in The Royal Dick as well. Hurrah! From noon til 10pm lunch and dinner is served, choose from big or small mains, serving platters and daily specials. There’s also a range of board games to enjoy in the bar – which makes The Royal Dick the perfect place to wile away an evening. It’s also dog friendly!
