SAY Award 2020: Live at the Longlist stream details

The Scottish Album of the Year Award will reveal its longlist of 20 albums later this month, with performances from Free Love, Sacred Paws and Kinnaris Quintet

Good news, everyone! It seems that some cultural stuff is occuring once again, whether it's the welcome reopening of GFT and Filmhouse, or the dazzling return of your favourite independent arts and culture magazine. Next to join this happy list is The Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) Award, which announces its 2020 longlist with an as-live stream on Thu 17 Sep.

The announcement of the 20-strong list, compiled from the 362 eligible albums put forward for this year's award, will be accompanied by a trio of live performances by past SAY Award winners and nominees. Glasgow's favourite utopian synth duo Free Love are joined by 2017 winners Sacred Paws and folk five-piece Kinnaris Quintet in a series of performances shot at a pair of Edinburgh events spaces – Summerhall and 54EP. The SAY Award have also announced that this year's judging and nominating panels feature a 50:50 gender split for the second year running.

Live at the Longlist streams on the SAY Award YouTube channel from 7pm on Thu 17 Sep. The SAY Award ceremony takes place on Thu 29 Oct; the winning artist receives a £20,000 cash prize, with nine runners-up receiving £1,000 each.
