Sacred Paws are back. At the end of May, the Glasgow-based band – made up of Rachel Aggs and Eilidh Rodgers – are due to release new album Run Around the Sun, their follow-up to Scottish Album of the Year Award winner Strike a Match. We’re told the new album, out on Rock Action in May, “brims with upbeat reflections on growing up and looking back.”

Ahead of that release, the duo have shared Run Around the Sun’s blistering opening track The Conversation; infectious earlier single Brush Your Hair, which was released in January, also features on the record. The Conversation is an explosive, breakneck track, and Rodgers says we should expect something similarly uptempo from the album as a whole. “I think we'd get bored if it was too slow," she says. "We'd never want to play something live that people couldn't dance to. It would feel really strange to us. It's kind of the whole point.”

Previous album Strike A Match was written long distance when Ridgers was based in Glasgow and Aggs in London, but both were living in Glasgow during this new collaboration. You can listen to The Conversation online now; Run Around the Sun is released 31 May on Rock Action (pre-order at sacredpaws.co.uk), with the tracklisting below:
