As we enter the auditorium the cast welcomes us aboard “Go Fly Airways.”

Jake Brunger and Pippa Cleary’s Jet Set Go premiered in 2008. While this tale of over-sexed and highly camp air flight attendants is overblown as we’ve come to expect from the musical, it offers up some relationships not too typified – not everyone gets the romantic ending the want.

Go Fly Productions has some talent to boast of, there is a great contrast by the understated performance of the modest Richard (Rory Stallibrass) his flamboyant counterpart (Jack Mosedale) who owns his role. The outrageous performance of sexy Puerto Rican, Julia (Ceci Mourkogiannis) adds much spice and the Welsh love-starved Hayley (played by Rosie Brown) has a wonderful voice and  the audience in stitches with her song about unsuccessful affairs with ex-lovers.

Everyone dances. The choreography is good in chorus pieces but comes fully to light during those involving a pair of dancers - the Broadway feel Dance With Me triumphs as does the sexy salsa involving the pilot and his lascivious Latina lover.

The merits of Jet Set Go are counterbalanced by some bland passages, especially near the beginning, and there are some lighting blunders where cast members are singing to the audience while cloaked in darkness.

If in a later incarnation the whole show lives up to its highlights it will be truly fantastic.
