A Telegram from Mischief

At the moment, with Mischief La-Bas, I am right in the thick of trying to create a Zoo and raise large amounts of money from half a dozen European collaborators, so when Dance Base offers a little freedom and respite to explore my own little soul, I grab it with both hands STOP

In fact it’s those self-same hands that are performing the show – obvious really as I have called it My Hands are Dancing but my Heart is Cold STOP

In the middle of trying to work out how to fit a Zoo into four forty foot containers, it was most refreshing to spin around in my chair and realise that I could make a complete theatre from the three B&Q pine shelving units behind me STOP So I did STOP

Bewitched by a Charlotte Gainsbourg track Beauty Mark I realised that there is something to be said for just asking the audience to concentrate on something very small and melancholic for several minutes STOP So I am STOP

Sometimes these ‘no big deal’ experiments turn out to be a bigger deal than the big deals STOP And I don’t need to hire any containers, just a Transit STOP If I could drive, I’d be laughing STOP
