Club and pub owners have tried, but none seem to hit the mark: Destination is one of the most unpretentious spaces you could go to. Walking in is like stepping back into the eighties, the main difference being that the drinkers are going out to light up. It's a welcome breath of fresh air in the context of a scene that seems to be the same in every city, everywhere. The drag acts, Sheri Trieffel and Celia Fate, retain a sense of history with a nod to the Divine David. The décor is frankly unimportant - what matters here is the atmosphere, the reception you receive, the distinct lack of poseurs, the friendly and efficient bar staff and the punters.
