Andrew Mitchell, who performs under the name Andrew Wasylyk, released his wonderfully eclectic third record The Paralian earlier this year via Edinburgh label Athens of the North. Having been commissioned to compose for a 19th Century Erard Grecian harp at Arbroath’s Hospitalfield historical house, where he was also given residency for a brief period, Wasylyk’s experiences resulted in orchestrated, beautiful soundscapes found across the album’s ten tracks, harnessing the diverse qualities of myriad instruments.

One of the tracks featured on The Paralian, Journey to Inchcape, has now been treated to a remix-makeover from Franz Ferdinand’s Julian Corrie, aka Miaoux Miaoux. The reimagining of the track completely transforms the original from a delicate piece of compositional musicianship into a wild, dancey jam – with the new video replicating this through a series of mesmerising images of rippling seas and swooshing tides.

The Skinny are delighted to be premiering the remix and its accompanying video which you can watch in the YouTube player above – click here if it’s not displaying correctly. Speaking about the remix, Mitchell confesses his admiration for Corrie: "I’ve been an admirer of Julian’s work since his Light of The North album, so I was excited (and relieved) he accepted my invited to collaborate." He continues: "For me, he’s rewired and reimagined it into an uplifting house stomper and made the track his own."

Corrie also shared his admiration of Mitchell: "It was an honour to be asked to remix one of my favourite artists. I had a great time turning Andrew's lovely melodies into a space disco excursion."

Journey to Inchcape (Miaoux Miaoux Remix) is released on 17 Jul; Andrew Wasylyk plays Summerhall, Edinburgh, 6 Aug; University of Dundee Chaplaincy Centre, Dundee, 29 Sep
