Is anyone else having Stranger Things withdrawal symptoms? It’s been over a year since we last visited Hawkins, Indiana and its plucky inhabitants, played by the likes of Winona Ryder and David Harbour. The only glimpse we’ve seen of the 80s-set sci-fi show’s upcoming season so far has been an extremely cheesy commercial for a new mall called Starcourt, which is due to open in Hawkins. Beyond that, little else is known about what to expect in the forthcoming episodes, due to hit Netflix in the summer of 2019.

Today, however, the titles for the eight upcoming episodes have been revealed, and with names like The Mall Rats and The Battle of Starcourt, it’s a safe bet that Hawkins’ newest retail establishment is going to feature heavily in the new season. We also know the new episodes will be set during summer, hence The Case of the Missing Lifeguard. The other five episodes are: Suzie, Do You Copy?; The Sauna Test; The Source; The Birthday; and The Bite.

We’re not sure how, or even if, the Starcourt mall connects to the shady goings on at Hawkins Laboratory and the doorway to parallel dimension The Upside Down that was created in its bowels. At the end of season three, you recall, Hawkins Lab was shut down. Might Starcourt be built on its tainted foundations?

The Duffer brothers haven’t revealed any plot details yet, but they have said to expect a different feel to the previous dark, autumnal series. “Aesthetically, it’s going to feel very different,” said Ross Duffer. “Everyone is going to this new mall, seeing movies, and, of course, the Hawkins pool is open for business. I think there’ll be a sense of fun and joy.” Take a look at Stranger Things season 3 trailer in the player above or on YouTube.
