The BBC has announced today that Limmy will be shooting more episodes of his DIY show Limmy's Homemade Show. Three half-hour episodes have been commissioned, which will be filmed this autumn and broadcast next year.

Limmy filmed one episode of Limmy's Homemade Show last year himself after the BBC had been dragging its heels. “It was taking so long,” he said in March 2018, “so I just went ahead and filmed it.” This DIY show was meant to be a one-off but it looks like the BBC want to run with this stripped-back format, with the three episodes set to appear on BBC Scotland and BBC Two.

As well as starring in, directing and writing the show, it'll be shot by Limmy using an HD camera and a tripod. We're told to expect a mix of sketches, songs, rants, animations and visual effects, with "Limmy continuing to comment on contemporary life in his own anarchic style."

As well as seeing his weird antics on Twitch! live streams, Limmy is also fresh from a short run at the Fringe, where he had to keep the news of the new show under wraps. "I've been asked at my shows and on my streams if I've got any telly stuff coming up," he said. "I've had to lie through my teeth and say that I don't know, so I'm delighted to finally become an honest man. I can't wait to make Limmy's Homemade Show, and I hope everybody likes it as much as I'll enjoy putting it together."

Limmy’s Homemade Show will premiere on BBC Scotland in the new year with the BBC Two transmission following shortly after.
