This low-lit, hugely atmospheric basement bar on Queen Street is an Edinburgh date night favourite. Their drinks menu features wildly inventive cocktails and their terrific DJs keep the vibes on point.

With opulent gold-edged decor that's both chic and cosy, Dragonfly is a great option if you’re looking for a date spot or simply to treat yourself. Its cocktails – both classic and contemporary – are excellent.

This fantastic Italian cocktail bar has won a plethora of awards and regularly appears on ‘best bars in the country’ lists. Expect a grand time, with expert bartenders, amazing nibbles and a lovely vibe.

Another tucked-away cocktail joint in Edinburgh's New Town, Lucky Liquor serves up an ever-changing menu of libations that push cocktail flavours to the limits. This one's fun, experimental and intimate.

This exceptionally good cocktail joint in Leith has a neat twist: its tasty drink concoctions take inspiration from the area's rich history as a trading hub. Its craft beers and natural wines are great too.

This chic bar in Leith is known for its natural and low-intervention wines, but it also has a great deli counter specialising in cheeses, meats and homemade Turkish delights that'll pair well with your tipple.

This cosy neighbourhood wine bar in Stockbridge serves up delicious cheese plates to accompany your wine while vinyl crackles on the record player. Their big focus is on quality, seasonal produce. Be sure to check out their Portobello spot too.

Near the top of Leith Walk, you'll find the stripped-back, monochrome and minimalist Spry, which offers an extensive menu of natural wines and delicious small plate options. Their cocktails are also on point!
