What's On Scotland 27 Mar-3 Apr: Berwick Film Festival & more
Berwick Film and Media Arts Festival takes place this long weekend in the charming town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. Elsewhere, BUZZCUT present experimental queer theatre at the CCA and Orla Gartland plays SWG3
This week we travel down technically to England (gasp!) for the 20th edition of the Berwick Film and Media Arts Festival, taking place in the seaside town of Berwick-upon-Tweed from 27-30 March. The programme kicks off with Your Touch Makes Others Invisible, an eerie docufiction work set in militarily occupied territory in Sri Lanka that lyrically examines the stories of missing people through a supernatural story of a son that disappears.
Elsewhere, there's a focus strand of short films by Brooklyn artist Ayanna Dozier, a documentary on Frantz Fanon by Raoul Peck, and a screening of seminal documentary Relax Be Cruel set around the Pier 34 warehouse project in New York and the counterculture that existed there in the 1980s. Tickets for individual films can be bought here, or get a day or festival pass.
