What's On Scotland 22-29 Mar: RSA New Contemporaries

Yes, those are pastel blue raw chickens hanging from a coat rack, because art. Also, because RSA New Contemporaries returns this weekend. Plus, Young Fathers, Aye Write!, RISOTTO's Riso Room, Amp Fiddler, UK Asian Film Festival and more...

Feature by Nadia Younes | 22 Mar 2018

RSA New Contemporaries is back for its tenth year and this year's exhibition will showcase work from 62 graduates selected from the 2017 degree shows, featuring a diverse selection of painting, sculpture, filmmaking, photography, printmaking, architecture and installation. This year’s exhibiting artists were selected by a committee led by Derrick Guild, while the exhibiting architect selection was led by Ric Russell.

As well as those creepy-looking chickens, you can also expect multimedia explorations of feminine representation from Edith Pritchett, documentary videos of rural lifestyles from Jamie Edmundson and much more. Image: Rub-a-dub-dub roast chicken in the tub (Soap, rope & steel) by Amy Grogan
