Each week The Skinny team hand-pick a selection of the best events from the North's cultural calendar to provide you with this 'ere top ten guide to the most exciting goings-on for the week ahead. From gigs, plays and exhibitions to spoken word, pop-up foodie events and one-off film screenings, we give you the insider's guide to things to do in Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds every Thursday morning.

Tis the Saison

For beer drinking, that is, thanks to Manchester Beer Week! Yaaaaay.

Following a launch party with GRUB food festival at Mayfield on Fri 23 Jun, you'll be able to drink (and eat) your way through a Blackjack Brewtap with Five Points, a Holy Crab supper club at Runaway Brewery, a Wild Beer Co taco takeover at The Beagle, a homebrew demo at Marble Beerhouse, a Black Lodge tap takeover at PLY, a debate on sexism in the beer industry with Melissa Cole and so much more. Like, absolutely shitloads more.

The festival will then draw to a close with Pilcrow's Summer Beer Thing next weekend, taking over the suntrap that is Sadler's Yard (just a few minute's walk from the Northern Quarter) with bars from local, UK and international breweries like Magic Rock, Cloudwater, Omnipollo, Mikkeller, North Brewing Co., Marble and Track, with 70 beers pouring at any one session (and a total of 200 lined up for the festival's duration). There'll also be street food from Latin American favourites Yakumama, Neapolitan pizza slingers Wood, Fire & Smoke and the kitchen at The Pilcrow's sister bar, Common.

You'll find, er, ale you need to know over on the Manchester Beer Week website. Happy bevvin'.
