Cocoon in the Park
With a line-up featuring Sven Vath, Eats Everything and a host of others, the Cocoon club presents a day of techno and house in the picturesque surroundings of Temple Newsham just outside Leeds. 9 Jul, Temple Newsham House, £45


Methyl Ethel
Recent tourmates of Courtney Barnett and soon to embark on a North American jaunt with Preoccupations (fka Viet Cong), the 4AD-signed Australian trio play a free gig at the Brudenell to give you a chance to find out what all the fuss is about. 13 Jul, Brudenell Social Club, £free



The Cribs
The much-loved Wakefield lads play a huge homecoming show in the heart of the city, with able support from Leeds favourites Menace Beach and Pulled Apart By Horses, and Thurston Moore of New York legends Sonic Youth. 22 Jul, Millennium Square, £22.50 


Wild Beasts
The Mercury-nominated Kendal quartet play a pair of Leeds gigs to round off the month, with the distinct possibility of some new material from their forthcoming album Boy King, due for release in early August. 26 & 27 Jul, Brudenell Social Club, £17.50
